Wedding Spotlight: Layne and Frank Edwards

FRANKLIN LIVING JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2024

Layne is from Russellville, and Frank is from Decatur. The happy couple now resides in Huntsville following their wedding May 13, 2023.

HOW THEY MET: Frank and Layne first met on a dating app. After talking for a while, they decided to meet in person. Layne attended a Bible study hosted by Frank’s church, and after that, they were pretty much inseparable. It was definitely love at first sight.

FIRST DATE: Layne and Frank’s first official date included the unusual activity of ax throwing, eating lunch at Bravo! Italian Kitchen at Bridge Street in Huntsville and consuming the best milkshakes at an ice cream shop called The Yard Milkshake Bar.

THE PROPOSAL: Frank and Layne’s engagement took place Aug. 20, 2022, at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville. A framed copy of their first official couple photo, from Easter of that year, was placed beside a brick wall, with a scenic view in the background, accompanied by a single red rose. Frank presented a diamond ring with red roses. The moment was captured by Frank’s brother Lee Edwards. It was a wonderful surprise for Layne, as she and Frank had conversed for some time about spending the rest of their lives with one another.

THE WEDDING: Frank and Layne’s wedding took place May 13, 2023, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. The elegant and rustic feel provided by The Givens House at Glenn Hill in Town Creek, along with cooperative weather, allowed for the wedding to take place outside. There were approximately 150 people in attendance.

FAVORITE MOMENT: Layne’s favorite moment of the day was when she was escorted down the aisle by her father, Heath Boyd, who is always a daughter’s first love. The moment felt like a complete fairytale, marking a wonderful transition into a new journey with the partner God had given her. Frank’s favorite moment of the wedding was when he and Layne first walked down the aisle as a married couple to the song “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles.

WHAT THEY LOVE: Layne loves how kindhearted and loyal Frank is and his ability to always help her with any problem, big or small. Frank loves how kind and genuine Layne is, and he says he knew she was the one when she made him laugh.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Frank and Layne are expecting their first child in February 2024. They are having a girl and are going to name her Gresham Layne Edwards.
