FRANKLIN LIVING JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2024

Addie and Kendric are both from East Franklin. The couple now resides in Bear Creek following their wedding Aug. 19, 2023.

HOW THEY MET: Addie and Kendric met in kindergarten and have been special friends since. Addie does not remember a time in her life when Kendric was not a part of it. They were like brother and sister, best friends, but as they grew older, they experienced heartbreak, lived and learned, and they realized they needed one another forever.

FIRST DATE: Addie and Kendric went on a trip during Thanksgiving break to Del Rio Texas, and that is where their feelings began to unfold. They began to see they wanted to be more than just friends.

THE PROPOSAL: Feb. 12, 2023, Kendric and Addie were supposed to meet his parents to go eat after church. When they got in the car, Kendric’s brother made up a story about needing to visit his uncle’s cabin – which was not out of the ordinary, so Addie did not suspect a thing. When they arrived, Kendric asked Addie to get out of the car, and when she did, he gave her a book with pictures starting from their childhood and continuing throughout the years. After Addie finished paging through the book, she looked up, and Kendric got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Their immediate families were hiding and were able to see him pop the question. Addie was totally surprised and answered with a resounding yes.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was elegant. The color was black with floral accents. Addie and Kendric were outside in the woods, under a wooden arch draped in white and floral arrangements. There were string lights draped throughout the trees, and rose petals and candles lined the aisles. All the music was done by Addie and Kendric’s family, which made the occasion even more special and emotional. Addie and Kendric come from large families and had around 350 guests.

FAVORITE MOMENT: Their favorite memory was their last dance. The DJ had all the guests exit the room and gave them one last dance to soak in the day, just the two of them. They felt so very blessed in that moment.

WHAT THEY LOVE: Addie loves that Kendric never gave up on being more than friends. Kendric loves how close he and Addie have always been since their childhood.
