Political announcement: David Hester speaks about run for reelection as county commissioner

Thank You, citizens of Franklin County for the privilege to serve as your Commissioner the past seven years. Working along with other county and state officials, I have obtained experience and knowledge in accomplishing the work needed to improve our beautiful county. It would be an honor to have the opportunity to keep building on that work.

One of the most exciting accomplishments recently is Broadband in our county. This has been years of hard work, and by the end of this year, it will be available to all citizens. Also, our county roads are in better condition than ever before, and work is still in process for more improvement.

Communication is important in being successful in any workplace. One of the benefits as your commissioner is listening and talking to people about their concerns and making it a priority to help and fix any problems.

I am retired from Tiffin Motor Homes after 34 years. I have worked and communicated with people all over the country solving problems.

I have lived in Red Bay all my life.

My wife and I have been married for 45 years. The Lord blessed us with two children, Adam and Amy.

Adam and his wife, Tina, gave us three grandsons, Dylan, Noah and Ty. Dylan married last summer, and now we have a granddaughter-in-law.

My son and I own a business in Red Bay, 15 Class Glass.

I am a deacon at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church, the Sunday school secretary and treasurer of the Master’s Men Association.

We live in a country that gives us the freedom to vote.

I am asking each citizen to evaluate the candidates running for office and pray for wisdom to lead you in the right decision. It has been difficult to reach out to every person and ask for your vote.

So, on Tuesday, March 5, I am asking you to help me fulfill the obligation and responsibility for this county and reelect Republican…WM DAVID ‘OPIE’ HESTER for another term as your commissioner.

God Bless!
