Johnny Joseph Johnston, 47, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at UAB Hospital, Birmingham.

He was born Aug. 16, 1965, in Russellville, and was a Methodist.

Services were Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Mike Sparks and Christy Nieto officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.

Survivors are one daughter, Bethany Johnston Elrod and husband, Josh, Belmont, Miss.; two grandchildren, Annabelle Elrod and JohnRoss Elrod; his mother, Betty Johnston Russell, Red Bay; two sisters, Elizabeth Kimbrough and Amanda Kimbrough, both of Red Bay, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Ross Johnston and Maxine Hale Johnston.

Pallbearers were Rodney Green, Dale Barron, James Evetts, Barry Bostick, Isaiah Kimbrough and Jerry Kimbrough.
