Peavey Electronics was recently awarded the nationwide "Amplifier Line of the Year 2000" award by the Musical Merchandise Review during its eighth annual Dealers Choice Awards. A company representative will accept the award in January in Anaheim, Calif.

Peavey Electronics Corporation ranks as one of the largest manufacturers of musical instruments and professional sound reinforcement equipment. It holds more than 130 patents and produces more than 2,000 products distributed in the U.S. and to 134 other countries around the world.
Newton resident's work chosen for capital exhibit
An egg ornament designed by Mississippi teacher and Newton resident Elisa Ledlow will be among the decorations at the 2000 Christmas Pageant of Peace. Ledlow's unique blown-out eggs filed with wax were selected by the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi to represent Mississippi's talent and skill in the nation's capital during the Christmas season.
Visitors to the annual pageant held on the Ellipse, south of the White House, will see 50 ornaments on the Mississippi tree. The national Christmas tree will be lighted by the president Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
Ledlow's ornaments are available at several Mississippi locations. She plans to use part of her income from the ornaments to benefit a children's charity.
For more information, call Ledlow at 683-7151.
