Council handles regular business

The Russellville City Council met Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium for its regularly-scheduled work session and city council meeting.

The council voted in favor of approval of $4,355 for AirMedCare Network coverage for all full-time city employees.

The council also:

  • Discussed a demolition project and passed the resolution to authorize and approve the application for the 2021 community enhancement grant funds through the CDBG Program.
  • Approved a resolution to authorize a local match for the 2021 CDBG community enhancement application.
  • Approved an Agreement of Understanding with the Russellville City Schools Board of Education.
  • Authorized the mayor to execute all documents associated with the 2021 CDBG community enhancement application.
  • Passed a resolution to approve application for industrial access road funds benefitting the expansion of Leisure Creations.
  • Approved authorization for advertisement to solicit bids for the bridge project on McGee Street after the civil group gets the plans in place.
  • Accepted letter of resignation from firefighter Heath Martin in the Russellville Fire Department, declared the vacancy and authorized advertisement to fill the role.
  • Accepted letter of resignation from patrol officer Timothy Balcom in the Russellville Police Department, declared the vacancy and authorized advertisement to fill the role.

The next regular council meeting will be Aug. 16.
