Tharptown cross country finishes top five

The Tharptown Cross Country team enjoyed some success over the weekend, finishing fifth of 18 teams in the 11th annual Pepsi Cross Country Challenge in Moulton.

The Wildcats finished behind Cold Springs, Hatton, Central-Florence and Priceville.

Angel Garcia and Ismael Perez led the way for the Wildcats with times of 20:09.95 and 20:12.57, finishing 17th and 18th respectively.

Dylan Valdez finished 23rd with a time of 20:37.73. Alex Quintero finished 29th with a time of 21:07.01.

Belgreen’s Canaan Stough finished in 12th place with a time of 19:35.96.
