Mountain View Baptist holds annual nativity

Mountain View Baptist Church’s annual free drive-through live nativity, A Night in Bethlehem, will take place Dec. 12-14, 6-8 p.m. each night.

The display, located at the church at 2110 Highway 81 in Phil Campbell, includes a number of painted wood cutout animals, including sheep, camels, donkeys and a cow, as well as live actors.

Free CDs with narration will be available, and the audio is also accessible via the church’s website and Facebook page.

“We’re looking forward to another wonderful year,” said Pastor Sammy Taylor. “There are 11 scenes from prophecies, all the way through a resurrection scene.”

This past year marked the first time the church had held the event since 2010, with the building being leveled in the April 27, 2011, tornadoes.

“Our church members are fantastic about taking part,” said the program’s director, Shannon Loden. “We always have a tremendous response from the community. This is a very exciting time for our church family. We look forward to once again sharing the true meaning of Christmas with the community.

“This is a good family event, and we hope everyone will come out and see what it’s all about.”

For additional information, visit the church’s website, www.mtviewbaptistchurch.org, or call 205-993-4610.
