EMSH names employee of quarter
Lee Miles was recently named East Mississippi State Hospital's employee of the quarter.
Employed by the hospital since November 1980, he works as dual diagnosis counselor on the Adult Psychiatric Receiving Unit.
Miles is described as a man of integrity who sets high standards for himself. His duties include serving as case manager to a large group of patients, serving on a treatment team, conducting several groups a week, devising treatment plans, charting, individual counseling serving on various committees and filling in for absent co-workers.
In addition to the honor, Miles received a $100 cash award provided by the East Mississippi State Hospital Friends Organization.
Corps of Engineers promotes Meridianite
Jonathan Trest was recently promoted to team leader for the river stabilization section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Vicksburg District.
His duties will include overseeing the design of bank stabilization, channel improvement and realignment and navigation projects.
In his previous position, Trest was lead engineer in the district's civil, mechanical and electrical section, designing projects for flood and erosion control, and maintenance of Corps facilities.
He is a native of Meridian, and graduated from Meridian High School in 1970. He earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University in 1975, and became a professional engineer in 1979.
He is married to the former Kathy Smithhart, and has one son.
The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
