Porterville artist Terry Cherry said he looks for beauty in a subject that anyone can appreciate when talking about his artwork.
The beauty that he talks about will be on display Thursday from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. when Bonnie Busbee Art Frame and Gallery hosts a reception for "Under a Southern Sky Revisited," featuring new works by Cherry.
The reception is open to the public.
One of the most respected and admired artists in the south, Cherry paints in watercolor, oil and acrylics.
The subjects of Cherry's paintings are mostly rural landscapes, creeks, flowers and cows.
Cherry's work has been featured in one-man shows, group exhibits, and competitions throughout the country.
Some of the sites, exhibits and competitions that have featured Cherry's work include the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Meridian Museum of Art, the Springfield Museum of Art and the Kentucky Watercolor Society.
