After losing their first three games, the Union Yellowjackets have put together a three-game winning streak to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The Jackets look to make it four straight wins when they host Sebastopol Friday night with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
Union has won the last two games in the series to take a 10-5 advantage over the Bobcats.
The Jackets are coming off a 20-12 win at Pisgah last week with Steven Lewis, Marcus Gill, and Nickos Harris combining for 168 yards on 29 carries in the absence of junior running back Anthony Johnson.
Union is 3-3 overall and in Region 3-1A. Sebastopol, which had an open date last week, is 0-5.
Maurice Thames had nine tackles and Demond McDonald had eight in Union's win over Pisgah.
Newton County
at Morton
After beating one Scott County team last week, the Newton County Cougars look to make it two straight when they visit Morton in a Division 5-3A matchup Friday at 7 p.m.
Newton County edged Forest 14-13 last week on a pair of Taylor Nichols field goals of 40 and 34 yards. Duke Hudnall led the ground game with 122 yards on 23 carries with Colby Amis and John Kidd combining for 116 yards on 22 rushes.
Defensively, Will Pearson led the way with a dozen tackles.
The Cougars hold a 6-2 series lead over Morton, beating the Panthers in each of the last five meetings.
Morton lost 21-0 to Prentiss last week in a game that started on Friday and ended Saturday night when the power went out at the stadium shortly before halftime Friday. That allowed Breland to scout the final 32 minutes of action.
Newton County is 1-1 in Division 5-3A and 2-4 overall. Morton is 0-2 and 2-4.
Philadelphia
at Lake
Philadelphia makes its first visit to Lake's A.F. Hollingsworth Field, a.k.a. Death Valley, Friday night. The Division 5-2A matchup finds the Tornadoes coming in with wins over Forest and Newton in the last two weeks, while Lake fell 20-14 to Clarkdale last week in overtime.
Philadelphia is 1-0 in 5-2A and 4-2 overall, while Lake is 0-1 and 2-4.
The teams haven't met since a 27-6 Tornado win at Union in 1936. Philadelphia also won 69-0 in 1926 and 39-0 in 1934 in a pair of games at Philadelphia to take a 3-0 lead in the series.
Desmond Murray leads the Philadelphia offense with 828 yards on 119 carries. Jarod Boler has nine receptions for 135 yards.
Newton County Academy
at University Christian School
The Generals improved to 4-3 with a 22-14 victory over Hebron Christian last week and look to add another win when they travel to Flowood Friday to take on the 1-6 Flames of University Christian School.
Lee Blackburn scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the win over Hebron.
At 4-3, this is the latest in a season the Generals have been over .500 since the 1999 squad was 5-4 going into its season finale.
UCS won the only previous meeting by a 49-15 margin last year at Decatur.
