A man wanted by federal agents may be headed this way to continue a postal and bank-fraud scheme that for nearly six years has spanned 17 states.
Carl Edward Fuerst, 34, reportedly uses numerous aliases to conduct what the FBI and U.S. Postal officials describe as a "split deposits." It begins with the stealing of mail.
The fraud reportedly involves states in the South and Midwest dating back as far as January 1996. His last known activity was in Northeast Oklahoma in January, the inspector said.
According to Weisend, Fuerst may be affiliated with white supremacist groups and "is considered armed and dangerous." Reports describe the man as about 5-feet-9 tall and weighing 195 pounds with brown hair.
He said if Fuerst is spotted, observers should call 911 or contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Jackson office at (601) 351-7153 or (601) 351-7525.
Weisend said information leading to the arrest of the suspect is worth a $10,000 reward from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
