Graveside services for Ogle C. "Ray" Maples will be held today at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery on Jackson Road in Kemper County with the Rev. Hal Bates officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Maples, 76, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and retired from Methodist Hospital in Dallas and Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, June Maples of Collinsville; children, Gary Maples and his wife, Liza, of Pass Christian, Debra Sliberling and her husband, DeGed, of Brandon and Michelle Maples of Collinsville and a grandson, Dale Jarrett Sliberling; a brother, Charles Hendrickson and his family from Texas; a sister-in-law, Ruby Maples of Mineola, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Maples.

Services for Ella Oneda Blackwell will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nick Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery in Chunky.
Mrs. Blackwell, 72, of Meridian, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in Meridian. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and the WMU at Mt. Vernon.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Clifford Blackwell of Meridian; a son, Emory "Lee" Littrell and his wife, Cindy, of Meridian; daughters, Dolly Ann Turner and her husband, Kent, of Suqualena and Karen Dean of Meridian; step-children, Clay Blackwell and his wife, Sue, of Florida and Becky Hancock and her husband, Terry, of Tennessee; sisters, Delois Burnett and her husband, Wavell, of Union and Hazel Mabry of Meridian; brothers, Huey Freeman and his wife, Glenda, and Leaverne Freeman, all of Meehan; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Freeman of Meridian; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.H. "Cricket" and Dollie Freeman; brothers, Doris, D.L., Ray and Arthur Freeman; a step-son, Craig Blackwell; and a great-grandchild, Jonathan Peebles.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Mildred Oxner will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Alex Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Oxner, 79, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Lavon Oxner of Philadelphia; a daughter, Voncile Smith of Jackson; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Melba Hardy of Union.

QUITMAN Services for Ruby Green McKnight will be held today at 2 p.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Boles officiating. Burial will be in in the church cemetery in Clarke County. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McKnight of Stonewall, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Golden Meadows in Shubuta.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon McDuffie and her husband, Earl, of Pascagoula and Shirley Broadhead and her husband, Dannie, of Stonewall; a sister-in-law, Irene Fairchild of Quitman; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie G. Fairchild and Mattie Zachary.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
