The Meridian Children's Chorus will be the guests at the next St. Paul's Chamber Music Series.
The concert will be Thursday at 12:05 p.m. in the nave of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1116 23rd Ave. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Founded in 1995 by Vivian Hurley, the chorus has received local and national recognition for its beautiful musical sound, varied repertoire and professional approach.
The chorus performs a minimum of two full concerts per season and appears regularly as a guest choir for many Meridian and Mississippi events.
In March 1998, the chorus made it national debut with the National Children's Choir in New York City's Carnegie Hall. In April 200, the chorus sang in Canada with the world-renowned Toronto Children's Chorus. Also in April 2000, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra featured the chorus in the Mississippi premier of Robert Jager's "I Dream of Peace."
In July 2002, the chorus traveled to England to perform in the Canterbury International Choral Festival in Canterbury and London.
The 2003-2004 local performance season of the Meridian Children's Chorus includes a Christmas concert, spring concert and an appearance with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra.
