NEWTON Graveside services for Willis Gene Higgins will be held today at 10 a.m. at Lawrence Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Felton officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Higgins, 62, of Newton, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in his home. He was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Inez Walker Higgins of Mendenhall; daughters, Rebecca Shaffer of Collinsville and Tracy Dickey of Anderson, Ind.; a son, David Higgins of Highland Home, Ala., and a brother, Freddie Higgins of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Higgins.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.

Graveside services for Glover A. King will be held today at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Lamoreaux officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. King, 75, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in his home. He was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church, a Mason and a member of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife of more than 55 years, Deloris Dearman King of Meridian; a son, Ronald Earl King of Meridian; grandchildren, Stacy Scott, all of Meridian and Lance Alton Herring and his wife, Jennifer, of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Posey and her husband, Matthew, of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by twin granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Johnathan Lavelle "John" Anthony will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Anthony, 28, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his children, John Ellis Anthony and Hunter "Bell" Anthony, both of Meridian; his former wife, Heather Wright Anthony; step-children, Hope Tucker and J.T. Tucker; his father, Ray Anthony and his fianc, Margie Erwin, all of Meridian; his mother, Mary S. Skipper and her husband, Wallace, of Neshoba County; a sister, Amy Pass of Neshoba County; a brother, Jeffrey Dale Ray Anthony; grandmother, Arlee Anthony and grandparents, Sara and John Smith, all of Meridian; nephews, Little John Marshall Pass and Emilio Michael Suarez and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Anthony.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Avery, 95, of Pachuta, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Aurora Nursing Lodge in Columbus.
Survivors include her daughter, Dot Young of Columbus; a sister, Sammie Lovett of Bay Springs; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rush, 74, of DeKalb, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Edwards, Martha Rush, Alinda Edwards, Margaret Hooks and her husband, Willie, Mary Butler and her husband, Johnny, all of DeKalb, and Glenda Rush and her husband, Steven, of Meridian; sons, Earnest Rush and his wife, Hazel, Shelly Rush and his wife, Cynthia, Murtis Harvey and his wife, Mary, and DeWayne Rush, all of DeKalb, Marzell Rush of Leakesville and Bobby Rush and his wife, Gennie, of Meridian; 38 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Grace of DeKalb; several aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.

Mrs. White, 79, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in Union. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy White and his wife, Patricia, of the Damascus Community and Joe White and his wife, Barbara, of Suqualena; five grandchildren, Joe White Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Jason William White and his wife, Deena, Brian Lee White, Terri DeCamp and Brett Lane Brumley and his wife, Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Poythress and Margie Katherine Dunn, both of Meridian and a sister-in-law, Doni Jean Wedgworth and her husband, Willie Ray, of the Ponta Hills Community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon White.
Pallbearers were Joe White Jr., Jason William White, Brian Lee White, Brett Lane Brumley and Richard Booker.
PRENTISS Services for Mallard Elroy Guy were held Wednesday at Prentiss Apostolic Church with the Revs. D.R. Buckley and A.M. Mansfield officiating. Burial was in Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Guy, 84, of Prentiss, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, seven sons, 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and four sisters.

Mr. McLeod, 91, of Quitman, died Monday, May 24, 2004, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel McLeod of Quitman; a daughter, Marilyn Taormina and her husband, Paul, of Quitman; brothers, Harold McLeod of Knoxville, Tenn., Wiley McLeod of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Thomas McLeod of Birmingham, Ala., and Norman McLeod of Beaumont, Texas; sisters, Dot Bell of Memphis, Tenn., Margaret Rhodes of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Louise Pennington of Newton; sisters-in-law, Mildred McLeod of Quitman, Jackie McLeod of Beaumont, Elizabeth McLeod of Tuscaloosa, Pat McLeod of Knoxville, Tenn. and Dean McLeod of Birmingham; brothers-in-law, J.W. Bell of Memphis and Roy Rhodes of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Paul Taormina III and Raymond Taormina, both of Quitman, Johnny Coglin and Tommy Coglin, both of Newton, and Kenny Coglin of Union; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida McLeod; and a daughter, Shirley Coglin.
Pallbearers were Ryan Higdon, Roy Higdon, Joey McLeod, Joe McLeod, Doug Griffin and Chris Boney.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Norman Jimerson, 60, of Meridian, who died Thursday, May 27, 2004, in his home.
