DEKALB Graveside services for Clara Nave were held April 5, at Depot Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Meeking officiating. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nave, 87, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Meridian.
Survivors include three sons, Henry Nave and Charles Nave, both of Toledo, Ohio, and Jimmie Nave of DeKalb; six daughters, Rita Marshall, Oneda Nave Love, Marva Kynard, Jean Nave and Shelia Hannah, all of Toledo, and Francine Stennis of Meridian.

DEKALB Services for Valerie Marshaye Hardy were held April 9, at Mt. Sinai M.B. Church in Louisville, with the Revs. L.B. Hathorn and Fred Idom Jr. officiating. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Hardy, 28, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her mother, Mary K. Hardy and her stepfather, Clayton Cooper II; two sons, Gary and Justin Grissom; two sisters, Shanika H. Hickman and her husband, Fredrick, and Tawana Hardy; a brother, Clayton Cooper III; several aunts, uncles, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Services for Bennie Martin Tanner will be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
Mr. Tanner, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Benchmark Health Care. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and the plumbers union. Mr. Tanner was a Mason.
Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Kozman of Meridian; a son, Donald Tanner of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Beulah Anderson of Meridian and Dorothy Bullock of Charlotte, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, a sister and two brothers.

NEWTON Services for Albert Evans "Skinny" Laing will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Frank Harmon, Jamie Leach and Don Mason officiating. Burial will be in Garlandville Cemetery.
Mr. Laing, 89, of Newton, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Riley Hospital. He was a member of Garlandville Methodist Church, a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was an avid guitar player and musician. He and his late wife, Orba (Pocketes) Laing, worked for First Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Laing Leach of Newton and a grandson, Jai Leach of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Orba Wall Laing and his parents, Walter and Iona Evans Laing.
Pallbearers include A.Y. Wilson, Bob Saxton, Thomas Laing, Charles Leach, Clarence Shimfessel and Joe Gibbons. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his guitar playing friends.

Services for Mary George Germany will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Wood officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Germany, 71, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, in her home.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Women of the Church. In 1976, she was appointed by President Gerald Ford as Mississippi's representative for the International Year of the Women. She had been extremely active in the Republican Party at both the local and state level since 1964.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Germany; her daughter, Janna Germany Denney and her husband, Darrell; two grandchildren, Drew and Hope Denney, all of Meridian; and three sisters, Aline Germany and Futreell Frazier, both of Brandon, and Frankie Wells of Eupora.
Pallbearers will be the Session of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JOHNNY EARL HERRINGTON

PHILADELPHIA Memorial services for Johnny Earl Herrington will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with Dr. Jim Shull officiating.
Mr. Herrington, 70, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in his home. He was a member of the American Heart Association and a retired security officer for General Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Herrington of Philadelphia; two sons, John Wayne Herrington of Columbus, Ohio and Kip Cooper Herrington of Philadelphia; three sisters, Sybil Laird of Guntown, Nell M. Barker of Philadelphia and Martha Lee of Union; and two brothers, James Leon Herrington of Union and Kenneth Wayne Herrington of Meridian.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the chapel.

Mrs. McKeithen, 70, of Bailey, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband, James E. "Jack" McKeithen of Bailey; two daughters, Janice Creighton of Collinsville and Leslie Landrum of Bailey; seven grandchildren, Brandon Creighton, Matthew Creighton and Danielle Creighton of Collinsville, Dusty Edwin McKeithen and Allen McKeithen of Sawyerville, Ala., and Brandi Landrum and Justin Landrum of Bailey; four sisters, Vivian Dowell of Edinburg, Arlene Noble of Baton Rouge, La., Ersel Allen of Carthage and Ammajean Watkins of Carthage; and three brothers, Bobby Hughes of Tennessee, Hansel Hughes of Forest and the Rev. Wilson Dee Hughes of Edinburg.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Edwin McKeithen and her brother, Jack Hughes.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
