Good luck to Judy Brown

By Staff
Judy Brown, a Franklin County native and Vina High School graduate, was recently named Region II ACTE Teacher of the Year. She is now one of three finalists for the national title of 2008 Teacher of Year, which recognizes a teacher that provides outstanding career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in his or her respective field and community.
Right about now, Mrs. Brown has about two days to wonder will she be named, basically, one of the best teachers in the United States.
Even being nominated for such an award is a tremendous honor.
She is a graduate of Vina High School, The University of North Alabama, and Webster University. Judy is married to Lt Col Robert L. Brown, USAF retired and is the daughter of Jack Hellums and the late Letha Hellums. Bob and Judy have two children, Joseph and Ashley.
Mrs. Brown is living and breathing proof that you can not only get a quality education in Franklin County, you can go out and deliver a quality education to other students.
The fact that this award can be associated with the educational system in Franklin County is nothing short of spectacular. It's a huge feather in the cap for her school and her teachers.
To be sure, Mrs. Brown has worked tirelessly to earn this award and recognition by her own right, but to think that seed was planed at Vina High School is a pat on the back to the teachers and administrators across the county.
Good luck, Mrs. Brown. We're rooting for you.
