County woman arrested on drug charges

A Franklin County woman was taken into custody Tuesday after officers found crack cocaine at her residence.

Authorities with the Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Misty Potter Waldon, 30, 419 Franklin 34, Phil Campbell, is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s office and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at Waldon’s residence in the East Franklin community after receiving a tip that drugs were being used inside the home.

ABI officials found numerous prescription bottles containing drug paraphernalia, officials said.

Authorities said one of the bottles contained a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Investigators with both the ABI and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the incident and are still searching for others who may be involved in the case.

Waldon was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
