After losing their season opener 14-7 to Mississippi Delta in the final two minutes last Thursday, the East Central Community College Warriors hope to find the win column when they head back to the Delta to take on Coahoma Community College Saturday afternoon in Clarksdale.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
A late touchdown that capped a 71-yard drive by Mississippi Delta doomed the Warriors in their season opener.
Although obviously disappointed with the loss, Warrior head football coach Terry Underwood said he was pleased with the Warriors' effort.
EC's John Bibb earned MACJC Defensive Player of the Week honors against Delta after making 12 tackles, 10 of which were solo, along with two sacks and a fumble recovery.
EC's Patrick Prince leads the state in rushing after one game after getting 124 yards on 20 carries against Delta.
Coahoma lost 48-0 at Pearl River last week, spotting the Wildcats 42 points in the first half on six touchdown passes. Pearl River quarterback Charlie Reeve threw for 420 yards against the Tigers. The Tigers surrendered 537 total yards.
Freeman Horton, a former ECCC assistant coach and former USM defensive stalwart, is the new head coach at Coahoma, one of the nation's traditional doormats in junior college football.
