A longtime county rivalry looks to heat up as Clarkdale and Southeast gear up for a Friday night battle.
The Clarkdale Bulldogs are coming off a 42-21 road win last week against West Lincoln. Clarkdale stands with a 2-0 record.
Bulldog running back Thomas Walters hopes to replay last week's performance of 98 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Marcus Hood will also play a big part for the Dogs racking up 80 yards rushing last week.
Defensively linebacker Alvin Moffitt had a big game with 10 tackles in the West Lincoln game.
The Bulldogs' offensive line was probably the most improved part of the team.
Coach Hathorn was very pleased with emerging team leader Quinn Moffite. "He's really turned into a leader," said Hathorn.
Southeast's Tigers lost a hard fought game last week against Northeast that ended in a 14-8 overtime loss.
The Tigers defense are expected to recap an exceptional Friday night performance.
Coach Taylor looks to many defensive players to have a big game including defensive tackle LaPatrick Carlisle, nose guard Carlos Larkin, linebacker Andy Landrum, and defensive end Richard Harris.
When asked about this week's game both coaches are confident, but have respect for each other.
The Tigers and Bulldogs will be kicking off Friday night, 7:30 at Clarkdale. It is sure to be a game not to miss.
