Enterprise tops Raleigh in warmup

ENTERPRISE – The homestanding Enterprise Bulldogs used four Raleigh turnovers and 330 yards of offense to upend the visiting Lions by a final score of 38-7.
Enterprise put their first points of the board late in the first quarter on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Don Moore to Brian McNeil. Michael Swancey added the extra point to make the score 7-0 with 1:45 left in the opening period of play.
Raleigh quickly answered with a 76-yard kickoff return by Terrance Johnikin. Tyson Brown added the PAT to knot the game at 7-7 with only 1:22 remaining in the first quarter. Enterprise came right back with yet another huge touchdown to regain the lead.
The Bulldogs ended the first quarter on a 31 yard pass by Moore to Kelly Jimmerson to set up the score. Colter Cannington scored from six yards out and Swancey added the extra point to give the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead with 10:29 left in the first half.
Enterprise continued to play hard on defense as Josh Williams sacked Brown to cause a fumble and give the Bulldogs possession of the football deep in Raleigh territory. The Lions took the ball right back on a interception by Brian McAlpin to return the favor for Raleigh. Williams finished the first half with two more huge sacks on defense for Enterprise to send the game to halftime with the Bulldogs on top 14-7.
The second half started on a big positive for Enterprise as Davieon Dixon returned a kick deep in Raleigh territory to set up a touchdown run for Zeb Swain to put the Bulldogs up 21-7 with 8:44 left in the third quarter of action.
The Lions were once again stopped on offense by the tough defense for Enterprise as Swain made a huge tackle to give the Bulldogs possesion of the ball again. Jimmerson took advantage of the Raleigh blunder and scrambled 45 yards to set up a 27-yard field goal for Swancey that was good and made the score 24-7 with 4:27 left in the exciting quarter.
Back-up quarterback Adam Simpson also chipped in on offense for the Bulldogs. Simpson hit Jimmerson for a 75 yard pass for a touchdown and also ran for a one yard score to secure the big win for the Bulldogs.
Enterprise finished the evening with 159 yards on the ground and 171 yards in the air to complete the big night on offense. Jimmerson carried the ball four times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Zeb Swain led the defense with ten tackles and is older brother Zach had nine tackles for the Bulldogs. Michael Grace also chipped in with nine tackles also in the win for Enterprise.
