About 51 pounds of marijuana was seized by the East Mississippi Drug Task Force on Wednesday morning at Union Station.
Two Meridian men were charged with possession of more than a kilo of marijuana with intent to distribute: Robert L. Jacoby, 48, of 435 56th Ave.; and Steve Pratt, 31, of 1916 26th Ave.
Maj. Steven Spears of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said the task force got a tip from Shreveport, La., on Wednesday. Officers there said a subject had been arrested at the Greyhound bus terminal in Shreveport with 20 pounds of marijuana. Spears said they believed more marijuana was headed to Meridian.
Jacoby and Pratt were arrested at the Greyhound bus terminal in Meridian after arriving about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. Task force members, Lauderdale County deputies and a Meridian K-9 unit assisted in the arrests. The marijuana was found in carry-on duffel bags.
