A string of Wednesday night burglaries in Lauderdale County remained under investigation by the Sheriff's Department this morning.
The break-ins were at Northeast Elementary School on Newell Road, Northeast Middle School on Highway 39, Northeast High School on Briarwood Road, and Bergin's Auto Sales on Highway 39.
At each of the schools, Calhoun said, a window was broken but nothing appeared to be missing. Some items were missing from the car lot and a vehicle at the business was broken into, he said, but an inventory was not complete at press time.
Deputies obtained some evidence at one of the scenes and they are asking for help from the community. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 917-8888.
