City sets auction of surplus property

A variety of the city's surplus property ranging from air conditioners and bicycles to electronic devices and a violin are scheduled for auction on May 4. The auction begins at 10 a.m. at the Public Works Complex, 2714 Third St., according to Purchasing Supervisor Wallace Heggie.
Persons interested in bidding on any of the items may preview the merchandise on May 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Items to be auctioned include bicycles and equipment such as televisions, VCRs, cellular phones, pagers, flip phones, microwaves, cameras, video cameras, an electric keyboard, a Playstation and Nintendos. Also to be auctioned are computers, monitors, printers and laptops along with typewriters, copy machines, fax machines, calculators and cash registers.
Leaf blowers, weed eaters, a lawnmower, air conditioners, golf clubs, a sewing machine and a violin are also on the auctioneer's list. Other items include amplifiers, microphones, an audio system, speakers, a remote control unit, stereo sound mixer, reel-to-reel tape player, satellite receiver, hand-held weather radio, electronic tool kit and radar detectors.
