Hicks, Groseclose

James R. and Mayme Hicks of Blountville, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Renee, to Ensign David Andrew Groseclose, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael D. and Shirley Groseclose of Toomsuba.
The wedding will be held June 8, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Addilyn Memorial United Methodist Church in Bristol, Tenn.
Miss Hicks is the granddaughter of Jess and Katie Hicks of Bristol and the late John "Shack" and Etta Cotter of Blountville.
The bride-elect, a graduate of Central High School in Blountville, received a bachelor of science degree from East Tennessee State University and a master of science degree in higher education from Florida State University.
Mr. Groseclose is the grandson of Clyde and Ruth Wampler of Spring Hill, Fla., and the late Giffert and Eloise Groseclose of Bristol, Va.
The bridegroom-elect, a graduate of Central High School in Blountville, received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Technical University. He received his commission into the Navy in September 2001, and graduated from Naval Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, R.I., in May.
Mr. Groseclose is currently stationed at Norfolk, Va., on the USS Thorn Destroyer.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
