Motorists traveling Interstate 20 between Lauderdale and Newton counties will encounter lane closures through June 15 as state highway crews lay asphalt and replace a guardrail.
Intermittent lane closures will occur on I-20 east and westbound from 65th Avenue to the Meehan/Lost Gap interchange. The lane closures will occur from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
Lane closures will also occur in various other locations along the route, restricting the flow of traffic to one lane both east and westbound, according to an MDOT spokesman.
Motorists are urged to drive cautiously in the work areas and slow down to reduce the risk of accidents and injury.
