Heavy rain Sunday morning, along with previous precipitation earlier in the week, forced cancellation of the second round of golf tournaments at Briarwood and Northwood country clubs.
Briarwood pro Rob McGraw and Northwood pro Jimmy Gamblin hope to resume play in their respective tournaments today.
Both tournaments, originally scheduled for 54 holes, have been shortened to 36 holes.
At Briarwood, Rex Gentry and Colton Tisdale shot a 64 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over George Polizzi and Billy McInnis in the Harry Lackey Labor Day Four-Ball Tournament.
Tied for third at 66 are the teams of Bobby Espey-Gene Hogan and Jason Walker-Dan Kerr.
In the Northwood Labor Day Scramble, Alan Hart and Paul Entrekin shot a 59 Saturday to lead the teams of John Kelly-David Larkin and David Russell-Dan Singley by a single stroke.
In fourth place at 61 is the team of Alex Weddington and Ed Brown.
