RC&D grant provides much needed laptop

The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District was recently awarded a $739 grant by the Northwest Alabama Resource Conservation & Development Council (RC&D) to be used for the purchase of a much needed laptop.
Due to recent changes in federal policy, a new laptop was needed for District employees to be able to carry on with their work as usual.
“The District really needed this laptop because there are certain programs that we can’t run on our other computers due to a change in federal guidelines,” said District Administrative Coordinator Beth Rhea. “This RC&D grant allowed us to purchase not only the laptop but the software and programs that were needed to go with it.”
Roger Hayes, Chairman of the Northwest Alabama RC&D Council, said “The Soil and Water Conservation District is a longtime partner to RC&D, so our Council was glad that the grant funds we provided helped fill an important need they had.”
Hayes also expressed his appreciation to Senator Roger Bedford and Representative Johnny Mack Morrow who represent Franklin County’s District and provide support for the RC&D program in the State Legislature.
