Man arrested after 40 pounds of marijuana found at home

JONESBORO – A local man was arrested Friday morning after law enforcement officials found more than 40 pounds of marijuana at his residence.

Jerry Lee Prince, 63, 3823 Franklin 58, Russellville, was arrested for drug trafficking, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.

According to Oliver, investigators with the Franklin County Drug Unit received information earlier this week that there was potential drug activity at Prince’s residence on Franklin 58 in the Jonesboro community.

Oliver said investigators began gathering information and obtained a search warrant to search the residence.

Oliver said investigators executed the search warrant at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

“Once investigators entered the residence, they discovered a large quantity of marijuana in a room that was being hung to dry out,” Oliver said.

“They also found several marijuana plants growing outside the residence.”

Oliver said after all the marijuana was confiscated, it was estimated to be more than 40 pounds, stock included, and Prince was arrested without incident.

Prince is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail.
