UA names grads, president’s list, dean’s list

GRADUATION

The University of Alabama awarded more than 1,650 degrees during its fall commencement ceremonies Dec. 10, 2022, including to two students from Franklin County.

Kelsey Montgomery, of Russellville, graduated with her Bachelor of Arts. Kaylee Saarinen, of Phil Campbell, graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

DEAN’S AND PRESIDENT’S LISTS

A total of 12,791 students enrolled during fall semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0, including 11 from Franklin County.

  • From Phil Campbell, Emma Ergle and Grace-lyn Habada made the president’s list.
  • From Red Bay, Abbey Colley made the dean’s list.
  • From Russellville, Kaitlin Anderson, John Aycock, Simon Colburn, Lisette Gonzalez, Kelsey Montgomery and Callie Palmer made the dean’s list, and Anna Byars and Maxim Moussad made the president’s list.

The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

According to UA, a recent economic analysis found that a degree from UA can pay more over time than investments in United States stock market indexes. The university provides numerous opportunities for service and growth to help prepare future generations through its educational, cultural and social experiences.

It is the state’s flagship university.
