Hodges hosting “Creatures in the Canyon” Oct. 25-27

HODGES – After a successful grand opening weekend at the Rock Bridge Canyon Equestrian Park, activities director Tina Lawler said they are already looking forward to their next event that she hopes will showcase the park’s hiking and walking trails in a fun and festive way.

The park will host “Creatures in the Canyon” on Oct. 25-27 starting at 5 p.m. each evening.

Lawler said the event will feature a hayride and haunted trail through parts of the canyon.

“Because the word ‘equestrian’ is in the name of the park, people tend to forget that we have hiking and walking trails that just about anyone would enjoy,” she said.

“Last year when I was planning the events for 2013, I thought of having a haunted hayride through the trail in conjunction with Halloween as a way to show off the hiking and walking trails while also having a fun and festive event during the month of October.

“I think this will be something great for the community and something we hope to turn into an annual event and build on each year.”

Tickets for the haunted hayride are $10 per person and children five and under get in free. Group rates are also available.

Lawler said food will also be available at the camp store for purchase and kid-friendly Halloween movies would be playing there as well.
