Michael D. Atkins, 41, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Decatur Hospital.

Mr. Atkins was a native of Ozark, Alabama, but had lived in Franklin County for several years. He was employed as a maintenance worker with Decatur General Hospital.

The funeral service was held Monday, November 4, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with burial in Ferguson Cemetery in Lawrence County. Officiating will be Jerry Pounders.

Survivors include wife, Treisa Ann Atkins; children, Courtney Breann Atkins and husband, Chase Terry, Michael DeWayne Atkins, Jr., and Jennifer LeAnn Atkins, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Cooper Bryant Terry and Trayson Kartar Atkins; parents, Juanita and Ken Atkins of Russellville; sisters, Christy Miller and husband, Donald, of Russellville, and Mandy Harville and husband, Joey, of Tuscaloosa; brother, Andy Atkins, of Russellville; father-and mother-in-law, Margie and Alvie Mears, of Russellville; sisters-in-law, Felicia Johnson and husband, Donnie, and Mandy Nelms and husband, Jesse, both of Russellville; brother-in-law, Chris Mears and wife, Jana, of Russellville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
