Career Tech students rack up awards at NWSCC competition

Scott Wiginton, Director of the Franklin County Career Technical center, said he was proud of the students who competed and won awards in the recent Career Tech competition held recently at NWSCC. Four Franklin County students won scholarships to NWSCC during the competition. The program offers various technical skills to students across Franklin County including welding and a newer program, cosmetology, as well as carpentry, auto-tech and repair and others.

The winners of the recent competition were:

Kyle Kelton 1st place Flux core, Welding Scholarship to NWSCC, RBHS

Ash Hatton 2nd place, Tharptown High

Brandon Cole 3rd place, Cutting, Vina

Zach Creekmore 2nd Place, Vina

Megan Lafnear 1st place Fantasy Makeup- NWSCC Scholarship   RBHS

Marina Black 3rd Cosmetology, Belgreen

Rebecca Daniel 1st place Cosmetology- NWSCC Scholarship, Belgreen

Alanis Welch-1st place Nails, NWSCC scholarship, Belgreen
