Hodges hosts Santa’s workshop

Visiting Santa’s workshop doesn’t require a harrowing trip to the North Pole. Santa’s Workshop will be open to children all of ages Dec. 10-11 at Rock Bridge Canyon Equestrian Park in Hodges.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the equestrian park will offer treats and activities to visitors to Santa’s Workshop. The event has been expanded from last year, when it was held only on Saturday.

“The children can come in and see Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas,” said Tina Lawler, RBCEP activities coordinator.

A $10 entry fee gets attendees one 4×6 picture with Santa or on a horse (additional photo packages will be available for sale) and also allows each child to participate in all activities, including decorating a Christmas picture frame and Christmas ornament, enjoying cookies and hot cocoa, playing games and making reindeer food.

“The reindeer food we’re making is special. It helps the reindeer fly,” Lawler said.

Anyone bringing a large group is encouraged to call ahead. Lawler said they welcome school classes and church groups.

Santa’s Workshop will be open in the camp store at the park. Call 205-935-3499 for more information.
