Phil Campbell, Tharptown split softball games

Phil Campbell and Tharptown faced off on the diamond twice this week with both teams getting wins.

The Wildcats drew first blood, beating the Bobcats 16-2 on Thursday.

Tharptown scored 16 runs on 20 hits, including three home runs, two by Lexi Little and one by Alyssa Fischer.

Little had three hits, five RBI and scored four runs. Fischer had five hits, three RBI and scored twice. Ashton Tharp had four hits, including a double, a RBI and scored a run. Jayden Partain had three hits, two RBI and scored twice.

Fisher got the job done for the Wildcats in the circle going six innings and striking out 10 without walking a batter.

Macey Welborn had the best day for the Bobcats at the plate with three hits, including a triple and an RBI.

Phil Campbell returned the favor on Saturday, beating Tharptown on their home field, 8-5.

The Bobcats got two hits each by Sidda Rogers, Macey Welborn and Kadence Taylor.

Mia Ambrosio scored three runs, and Rogers scored two.

Addie James pitched the complete game for the Bobcats, striking out four.

Allie Gann led the Wildcats with two hits, including a double, a RBI and scored twice.
