Karen Denyse Atkinson of Enterprise and Brian Christopher Barnes of Mantachie were married Friday, May 23, 2003, at Goodwater Baptist Church with the Rev. Hal Ethridge officiating.
Parents of the couple are Robert E. and Dianne Atkinson of Enterprise, and Zee and Linda Barnes of Mantachie.
Grandparents of the bride are Deloris Joiner of Meridian and Trudie Clay of Lauderdale.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Martha Barnes of Mantachie and Cliffie Marlin of Dyersburg, Tenn.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Zielda Gandy, pianist; and Pattie Ethridge, soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white A-line satin gown featuring re-embroidered lace, sequins and seed pearls. The bodice featured a square neckline with scalloped three-quartered length split sleeves. The skirt flowed into a chapel-length train that was edged in lace. Her fingertip-length veil was anchored by a tiara of crystals, pearls, and sequins. She carried a bouquet of white sweetheart roses hand-tied with satin ribbon.
Tracy Norton of Starkville served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Lindsay Glorioso of Memphis, Tenn., and Shelley Ann Roy of Baton Rouge, La.
Brandt Nichols of Tremont served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were David Bolton of Baton Rouge, Kevin Martin of Starkville, Robby Atkinson of Enterprise and Anthony Craven of Clinton.
Program attendant was Kelly Barnes.
A reception was held at The Best Western in Meridian following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Brenda and Aubrey Perry, Tracy and Jami Lynn Boardman, Katie Jay and Jamie Harris.
After a honeymoon in Las Vegas, the couple resides in Jackson.
