A lasting legacy of helping others

This past Saturday a group of men gave their time to make sure that others in their community received something for Christmas.
The Franklin Civic-Social Club, which has varied in membership over the years, now has several outstanding men who try to give back to their community any way they can.
That's what they did Saturday when they distributed 50 turkeys and 50 fruit baskets to senior citizens and single parents in and around Russellville.
They followed the example of one of the group's founder, the late Robert Hillman who passed away last spring.
Mr. Hillman would have been thrilled to see those families being served by people who cared for them.
We should commend this local volunteer club for giving and caring for others.
If only we all did our part as they are doing.
