Hollis Franklin Martin, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Miss.

He was born in Itawamba County, Miss., on Nov. 8, 1944, to James and Caldonia Martin. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Mississippi Chemical Corp. as a Project Manager and retired after 25 years. Hollis was a lifelong member of University of Mississippi Athletic Association and was an avid collector of Native American artifacts.

Graveside services were Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by two sons, Hollis Christopher Martin and his wife, Leslie, of New Orleans, La. and Jeffrey Howard Martin and his wife, Kate, of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Hale Martin, Ali Martin and Jaxson Howard Martin and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Sue Edwards Martin.
