The Belgreen Bulldogs were trying to get a double header against R.A. Hubbard in, but the rain — and lightning — stopped the event short just four innings into game one. Belgreen was ahead 8-6 when the lightning struck, so the Bulldogs go down as the winner for game one.

“The two teams kept fighting through the rain,” Belgreen head coach Kenny Lindsey said. “Our guys never gave up.”

R.A. Hubbard picked up a run in the top of the first. Belgreen answered in the bottom of the inning after Tyler Medina drew a walk. He stole second base, and then was driven in by Andrew Bolton. Zach Leverett then brought Bolton home on a sac fly.

The Chiefs took the lead again in the second with two runs, but the Bulldogs added three more runs in the inning starting on an RBI double by Dakotah Leverett, Dakotah Leverett then stole home on a wild pitch, and Medina reached home on a wild pitch after stealing second and third.

R.A. Hubbard scored three more runs, but Zach Leverett, Zack Martin and Jake Tittle each stole home on wild pitches to end the game with a win for Belgreen.
