RFD, NorthStar provide free CPR course

The Russellville Fire Department and NorthStar Paramedic Services teamed up to provide a free CPR certification course for staff members at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
NorthStar Manager Jeremy Glenn said the company decided to offer more services for the community, and the CPR class is just one example of those services.
"This is part of Terrace Manor's continuing education for their employees," Glenn said. "We are here to re-certify the staff in CPR."
CPR certification is good for two years, and then must be re-certified.
Fire Marshall Bobby Malone said the department is happy to team up with NorthStar to provide these services to the community, and they plan to provide more of these types of services.
"We hope to team up with NorthStar and Pleasant Bay to do a CPR class for the public in the coming months," Malone said.
Firefighters and paramedics worked side-by-side to assist the staff members with their re-certification in CPR.
Glenn said NorthStar is planning other community services, such as blood pressure and blood sugar screenings free to the public.
"We've got a lot planned to better our community," Glenn said.
For more information on the services provided by NorthStar, call 331-9790.
