Three charged in Frankfort burglary

Three Russellville men were arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a burglary that took place Friday night.

Joshua Keith Cavender, 22, 100 Willow Bend, Apt. E-3, Russellville; and Andrew Drake Pounders, 21, 408 Green St., Russellville, were both charged with second-degree theft of property, second-degree receiving stolen property and third-degree burglary.

Gregory Bernard Jones, 32, 700 Westgate, Russellville, was charged with second-degree hindering prosecution, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver, investigators responded to a burglary and theft call on Friday on Franklin 58 in the Frankfort community where a 32-inch TV and several firearms were stolen.

As a result of the investigation, Cavender and Pounders were developed as suspects and were picked up for questioning about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Oliver said both defendants confessed to the burglary and investigators were led to Jones’ apartment where officers were involved in a brief scuffle in an attempt to recover the TV along with cocaine and marijuana.

Officers with the Russellville Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Cavender and Pounders were released on $5,000 bonds. Jones was released on a $6,500 bond.
