Seventy-eight old public housing units in Meridian's J.T. Davis Courts will soon be demolished, making way for future revitalization.
The U.S. Department of Housing &Urban Development on Thursday awarded a $359,881 Hope VI Demolition grant to the Meridian Housing Authority for the work.
Meridian was selected from among 102 applications that came from more than 60 public housing authorities. The grants will fund the demolition of more than 5,700 older public housing units nationwide.
